Can my electrical panel handle a Level 2 EV charger?
It depends on your panel size and your current electrical load. Most homes built after 2005 across BC can handle a Level 2 charger without any panel work. Older homes are often on a 100A panel, which may need upgrading before your charger can be safely installed. We check this during your free estimate.
What rebates are available for EV charger installation in BC?
If you own a home in BC you can get up to $350 back through the CleanBC Go Electric program on your charger and installation cost. If your home is on BC Hydro you may be able to claim an extra rebate on top of that. We go through all of it with you before we leave so you don't miss anything.
Can I get an EV charger installed in my strata or condo?
Yes. You just need your strata council to approve it first — BC requires a written approval letter from your strata before any work can start. Once you have that, we handle everything else. Strata buildings can also access much bigger rebates through CleanBC Go Electric — up to $3,000 for the building and $600 per parking stall.
Why do I need a licensed electrician for EV charger installation in BC?
Because BC requires it for any hardwired Level 2 charger. If the work isn't done by a licensed electrician it won't pass inspection, and your home insurance could be affected.
